After the tour Ray had a few questions for Richard Thorpe and Barry Ardel about the pods. How they are made? What materials are used to make them? How long it takes to deliver a pod to site? Plus the all important price.
Richie let us know the pods are made from steel frame systems, which give them a long lifespan and allows the pods to be moved multiple times with no hassle. They Discussed the lifting irons, on the roof, that allow the fully constructed pods to be lifted onto the customers site in one day. The expected delivery date to the customers site is a short 6 weeks from day of order.
Barry then let us know that demand is huge and has found the majority of people use the pods for living in, some for renting out and a few for garden rooms. After telling Ray the pod was €45,000 fully fitted, they discussed the benefits of buying a pod over putting down a deposit for a large mortgage.
When it came to planning permission Richie informed Ray that we let the customer decide how to proceed, we would advise any customers unsure with their local planning rules to get in contact with their local planning authority to answer any questions they have about getting a pod placed on their site.
After the interview Ray went outside to discuss alternative accommodation with one of our customer who had just placed an order for one of our two bedroom pods, an barge owner and the owner of a sustainable house.
